WATCH: Ford Gifts Santa Claus 2,000-HP SuperVan Just In Time For Christmas
Frankie Muniz and Vaughn Gittin Jr. have made Santa the best delivery man he can be this Christmas.
Ford Performance is getting in on the festive season cheer with a cheerful four-minute video of Santa’s Training Camp. With former child star and now NASCAR driver Frankie Muniz as drill sergeant, Santa is put through his paces to earn his HDL (Holiday Delivery License), with challenges including a military-style mud crawl to plug Christmas lights into the bed of an F-150 Lightning and practicing his present drops down a chimney while drifting a Ford Mustang GT.
But the hardest challenge for ol’ Mr. Claus is when he has to race pro drifter Vaughn Gittin Jr.
Santa is handed the keys to a Mustang Mach-E, while Gittin Jr. takes the wheel of the 2,000-horsepower Ford SuperVan 4 – the unholy lovechild between a Ford Transit Cargo Van and a Ford Mustang Mach-E, hopped up on bath salts. Hilarity ensues.
The SuperVan may have a clear advantage, but Gittin Jr. takes all the liberties he can to shred rubber and drift the SuperVan in an empty lot before rejoining the race to beat Santa. Despite the loss, Ford Performance employees award the big guy in red his HDL for the festive season and bestow upon him the finest gift of all… the SuperVan 4 itself as his sleigh for Christmas.
Manufacturers always get in on the Christmas action, with this year’s highlights including a light show from the Tesla Cybertruck and BMW putting an M5 Touring under the tree for us to enjoy. But Ford’s is perhaps one of the most entertaining of all.
Merry (belated) Driftmas.
