Late Model Racecraft has made the venomous truck even more deadly.
Texas-based tuning firm Late Model Racecraft (LMR) has managed to squeeze a whopping 1,000 horsepower out of the Shelby F-150 Super Snake Sport – an incredible feat, considering that the truck already makes a whopping 775 hp from the factory.
The Shelby-modified pickup truck is based on the two-door, single-cab 2022 model F-150. From Shelby alone, the truck already gets plenty of goodies, including the company’s signature stripes, emblems, and lowered suspension with adjustable rear shocks, aftermarket rear traction bars and rear sway arm, and a supercharger for its 5.0-liter V8 Coyote engine.
LMR, however, has taken it up a notch by enhancing its fuel system thanks to high-flow injectors. The company also installed a custom-made supercharger pulley, three in-tank fuel pumps, and high-performance headers. The truck also retains its four-wheel-drive system.
Thanks to the added parts, LMR showed that the low-riding street-focused truck can now do 10-second passes. It also reached a 0-60 mph time of 3.12 seconds, bringing it to levels similar to sports cars like a Nissan GT-R Nismo. It may even be enough to beat the stuffing out of electric-powered drag monsters like the Tesla Model S Plaid in the hands of a skilled driver and some drag slicks.
LMR says it can modify a non-Shelby 5.0-liter F-150 to make around the same amount of performance. As for the 2022 F-150 Super Snake Sport, it’s no longer available from Shelby as it is now selling the updated model based on the 2023 F-150 at $93,385 with the supercharger. It still uses a Coyote V8, though, so LMR may still be able to do work on the newer truck.
The company did not disclose pricing for the F-150 Super Snake build, but we reckon it won’t come cheap.
As a side note, a new Ford F-150 Carroll Shelby Centennial Edition, based on the Lariat 4×4 5.0-liter SuperCrew, is currently available. It’s a whole different beast as it churns out 800 hp straight from Shelby. It is also a limited-edition model with only 100 made and a price tag of $138,495.
