2024 Ford F-150 Lighting Order Books Open With Lower Starting Price Than Expected
Ford has opened the order books for the 2024 F-150 LIghtning, with lower pricing than initially expected. Aside from a wallet-friendly MSRP, the electric truck has received several updates for the new model year, adding even more value to the Blue Oval’s package. For MY2024, the F-150 Lightning receives a vapor injection heat pump system. This optimizes energy consumption, particularly in colder climates.
The vapor injection setup is utilized in heating and cooling modes, which increases performance regardless of the ambient temperature. On XLT trims and above, a 360-degree camera, Pro Trailer Backup Assist, Pro Trailer Hitch Assist, Trailer Reverse Guidance, Smart Hitch, and On-Board Scales are now standard. Previously, this was only available with the Tow Technology Package. Interestingly, Ford hasn’t mentioned pricing for the entry-level Pro model, but a leaked dealer memo shows this trim will retail for $54,995.

Elsewhere, the Pro Power Onboard system has been upgraded to operate even when the vehicle is switched off. The charging speed display on the digital instrument cluster has been updated to show the speed of charge, status, and estimated charge time. A Walk Away Lock function adds extra convenience to the package.
Ford’s BlueCruise hands-free driving assistance is also offered for specific grades. The Lightning will also be available with Lane Change Assist and In-Lane Repositioning, making highway and long-distance driving a bit easier.

OFFICIAL: Ford Delays New Electric Pickup And Three-Row SUV
Ford delays EV production for its all-new pickup and three-row SUV as it pivots focus to launching hybrids for every combustion car in the lineup.
This, together with the reduced pricing, should stimulate F-150 Lightning sales. Once in solid demand, Ford cut production at the beginning of April. Before, 2,100 workers, split between three shifts, built the electric truck. Now, there’s just a single shift with 700 employees, adjustments bringing production in line with market demand.
Other changes for MY2024 include the addition of the Flash trim level, which offers customers a well-equipped (and reasonably priced) Lightning. Now priced at $67,995, this version boasts a range of 320 miles, a wireless charger, a 15.5-inch touchscreen, push-button start, and keyless entry, to name a few features. Customers opting for the top-spec Platinum can order the Platinum Black package for an extra $8,000. This style-enhancing option includes a matte black wrap, 22-inch black wheels, and a host of agate black accents.
Finally, F-150 Lightning owners will find charging a more pleasurable experience, as Ford has gained access to the Tesla Supercharger network. Now, Lightning and Mustang Mach-E owners can top up their batteries at 15,000 Superchargers across the country by using a Fast Charging NACS Adapter that can be ordered from the dealer.
